SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1. We are presently considering inquiries in the area of CHILDREN’S and MIDDLE GRADE fiction and nonfiction.

2. We are presently accepting inquiries for illustrated military history.

3. We will consider inquiries for illustrated, special interest nonfiction subjects written with authority for the intelligent reader.

Do not send inquiries for general fiction and nonfiction. Unsolicited inquiries for subject matter not currently on our submissions guidelines will not be acknowledged.

Inquiries by email are acceptable.

Please note in subject line “MS Inquiry - no code.” We will reply by email.

IF YOU ARE ASKED TO SEND MATERIAL YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED A SUBMISSION CODE UNDER WHICH YOUR WORK WILL BE LOGGED. DO NOT SEND MATERIALS TO OUR OFFICE WITHOUT A SUBMISSION CODE.

             Children's book inquiries should include the following information:

1.) Please describe your work. Is it a picture book, chapter book, middle grade
reader, or young adult fiction?

2.) Tell us the age group you are writing for.

3.) a.) What is the topic?
     b.) Please give us a very brief synopsis.

4.) Is there artwork?

5.) a.) How many words is it?
     b.) If paginated, how many pages?

6.) What books would you compare your work to?

7.) Is the manuscript poetry or prose?

8.) Are you confident in your grammar, punctuation, tense, and construction of
your story? If rhyme, is the meter correct and constant?

9.) Do you have writing experience?

10.) Have you been published?

Inquiries for Military History manuscripts should include a brief synopsis of
the topic and your credentials for authorship. Research must be based on
primary sources.
